Netflix flight attendant job offers $385,000 salary
Netflix is on the hunt for a flight attendant for one of its private jets – with the successful applicant being paid as much as $385,000.
The company is looking for candidates with “independent judgement, discretion and outstanding customer service skills”.
And expect the application to be able to “operate with little direction and a lot of self-motivation.”
The job advertisement comes after last year’s axing of hundreds of jobs at the streaming site – following a drop in subscribers, amid a growing cost of living and competition from other streaming sites.
“The overall market range for this role is typically $60,000 – $385,000. This market range is based on total compensation (vs only base salary), which is in line with our compensation philosophy,” Netflix said in a job listing on its website.
Netflix says the employee’s salary will also be considered by “compensation factors” such as experience and skill.
The role is based in San Jose, California and requires the individual to travel the US and beyond.
The successful applicant’s duties on a ‘Super Midsize Jet’ will include inspecting emergency equipment in the cockpit, cabin and gallery before takeoff.
They will also be lifting heavy items when loading and stocking planes.
The salary on offer is huge compared to the average salary of a US flight attendant – who earns just over $62,000.
Netflix reverse decline in viewers
On Thursday, Netflix is due to announce its earnings for the last three months of 2022.
In 2021, the streaming site said it had added 2.4 million households to its subscriber base in the three months to the end of September, reversing a decline in subscriber numbers.
Earlier in the year, the company said it had experienced its first fall in paying customers in more than a decade, but hit shows such as Stranger Things drew viewers back.
Job losses, a cheaper package and a crackdown on password sharing were also introduced in an attempt to boost growth.
