A mum ended up with the entire Asda logo printed on her head after she used one of the supermarket’s plastic bags while dyeing her hair.
Nikki Mac, 27, popped the bag over her hair to help the platinum blonde colour develop – but the chemicals ripped the Asda lettering completely off.
The Methil, Fife, Scotland, resident’s sister filmed the moment Nikki cried tears of laughter when she realised she became a walking Asda ad on TikTok.
After more than 5.3 million people viewed her snafu, Nikki said: ‘It was terrible. This was just before a night out.
‘I saw the green lettering in the mirror. It was a shock. I decided to dye my hair and I was meant to be platinum blonde. I was just doing my roots.
‘I took the bag off my head and I saw the Asda sign. I had green hair.
‘The chemicals had caused the Asda sign to melt off.

‘I had green hair for ages.’
Nikki had been getting ready for a night out with her sister Lisa, 29, when she decided her roots needed a quick touch-up.
She covered her hair with an Asda plastic bag after running dye through her tresses only to be ‘shocked’ to see the retailer’s logo on the top of her head.
‘I didn’t know what to do so I shouted Lisa,’ Nikki said. ‘She came in with her camera because she heard me laughing and that’s how she caught it on camera.
‘Lisa was crying with laughter – she couldn’t stop.
‘We went on the night out after that with my new hair. It was dark so no one was commenting on it. We told everyone what happened and showed them the video.

It took a fair few washes to get the logo out – at least it wasn’t a bag for life (Picture: Kennedy News and Media)
‘This is a cautionary tale for others. I leave it to develop on its own now.’
Determined to not let the botched hair dye job damper her night, she went out anyway.
But it took her a ‘good few washes’ to get the bright green logo out of her hair.
‘There was a green tinge to it when I washed it out. It was like that for a good few washes before it went back to normal,’ Nikki added.
If Nikki wasn’t able to wash out the Asda sign from her head, her TikTok followers had some tips for her.
‘Just need some tinsel and lights and you’re all good to go,’ said one person.
