More than 115,000 Royal Mail workers strike on Friday
Today marks the start of a mass strike by Royal Mail postal workers, some 115,000 will walk out in a dispute over pay.
It’s the first day of four of industrial actions, with the dates 31 August and 8 and 9 September also set aside for strikes.
Royal Mail warned that letters will not be delivered on those days and parcels will likely be delayed.
The workers’ union wants a pay rise that more closely reflects the current rate of inflation.
Royal Mail apologised to customers for the disruptions ahead and said they had a contingency plan to minimise disruption.
