INDIA DEPLOYS 10,000 BATTLE-READY TROOPS TO KASHMIR
WTX reports, tensions are rising in Kashmir after India deployed 10 000 troops ready for battle in the area on Sunday. Kasmir, one of the worst militarized areas in the world has seen a rise in violence over the last few years. A suicide bombing claimed by a Pakistani-based militant group in February started an airstrike battle between the two countries.

President Trump said he was asked by the Indian Prime Minister to mediate on the Kashmir dispute with Pakistan, though India rejected his claim.

SHIPS CAN BE RE-REGISTERED UNDER ANY FLAG IF YOU’VE GOT 15MINS AND A CREDIT CARD
CNN reports, with the current tensions in the Strait of Hormuz continuing, CNN puts the “spotlight on the murky world of international shipping.” It reports shipowners can register and re-register their ships within minutes, although its a nightmare for the ships’ crews.
“If you’ve got a credit card, and you’ve got 15 minutes, you can re-register your ship under any flag you want,” said Micheal Roe (Professor of maritime and logistics policy at University of Plymouth).
Current laws allow ships to sail under almost any flag regardless of ownership, as long as they pay their registration fee. This is known as a “flag of convenience” within the shipping world. A clear example of how common a “flag of convenience” is can be seen in the statistics. 40% of the global fleet is registered in Panama, Liberia and the Marshall Islands- between them they own just 169 ships.
Roe added, “ Without being too insulting, these are totally irrelevant countries when it comes to shipping, except they’ve got cheap flags with low standards of regulation.”
