A woman trying to get treatment at an urgent care facility found herself completely alone after the entire clinic’s staff seemingly forgot about her.
Dianne King went to American Family Care in Forestdale, Alabama on November 10 for treatment for an illness.
King said she arrived at the clinic at 4pm. She waited for two hours before they were able to see her in an exam room, where they swabbed her to run diagnostic tests.
King dozed off, before waking up to an eerily silent clinic. ‘At 7:55, I wake up, and literally everyone left. There is not a soul here,’ she said. ‘I mean who leaves a patient waiting in a room?
The irate patient began recording the creepy experience on a video livestreamed on Facebook.
In the footage, she wanders down the halls of the facility, shouting ‘hello?’
As she walks back into the waiting room and building entrance, the camera then turns to face the sign for the clinic, which reads: ‘American Family Care, PS: It’s All About You.’
King then walks out into the parking lot, which is deserted with the exception of her white sedan.
She then walks back in and does another lap around the building. ‘Do I have results from my swabs? No. Is there a doctor in sight? No. Nobody but me, because they forgot about me.’
The entire footage lasts for about six minutes. ‘They left me in a room, with the door closed. So I guess I’ll leave too,’ she said. ‘I mean, what do you do?’
King later said American Family Care called her to apologize and finally got her the test results days later, she told AL.com.
She also told the local news site that she works as a nurse, but doesn’t understand how the mistake could have happened. ‘I know things get hectic, things get busy, but you don’t just forget a whole patient,’ King said.
