Far-right outsider Milei wins Argentina presidential run-off election
Javier Milei has won Argentina’s presidential run-off poll, according to provisional results.
The far-right libertarian has received a call from his rival, Sergio Massa who conceded.
Former US President Donald Trump congratulated Milei on his victory, saying “Make Argentina Great Again!”.
Argentina is currently struggling with rising inflation and an economy in crisis.
Milei’s proposals include detonating the central bank and introducing the US Dollar as the country’s currency.
Provisional results showed Milei had nearly 56% of the vote compared with 44% for Massa, with almost 90% of votes counted.
