Mike Tindall’s time in the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! jungle may be over, but he’s still taking on challenges and throwing himself in at the deep end where possible.
The rugby star – who narrowly missed out on the final ahead of Jill Scott’s jungle triumph last series – started his 2023 in a different way to most.
In aid of charity, Mike, 44, took a dip in freezing cold waters while wearing only, you guessed it, his famous budgie smugglers.
Of course, if something wasn’t filmed these days it didn’t happen, so Mike documented his bravery for us all to enjoy.
‘Happy new year, everyone! The 1st of January,’ he began in the Instagram video.
Playing it as cool as ever, he said: ‘It’s not that cold, it’s a little bit cold.

‘We’re down here at the lake and it’s time for a Doddie doo.’
Mike then removed his coat and stood in just his teeny tiny blue swimwear, laughing as he covered his chest.
‘And so, it is that time, sorry, it’s very nipply out here! We’re going in!’
The sporting legend then joined his pals in the water, and plenty of squeals could be heard from the dry land.

His video ended with a picture of the three men from behind, all wrapping their arms around one another and looking out onto the lake.
It’s safe to say they put the rest of us to shame, as most of us saw in the new year underneath a duvet.
He was praise for his efforts, as one fan commented: ‘Brilliant! 👏🏻 Is it my imagination or did your voice go up a few octaves once in? 😂’
‘Bonkers! Wish I was that brave 😂 Happy New Year to all of you xx’, commented another.
The group’s ‘bonkers’ actions were all for a good cause, however, as Mike kickstarted his six-week fundraiser.
Former pro rugby player Mike is supporting Doddie Aid, which was set up by rugby union player George ‘Doddie’ Weir to fundraise for research into Motor Neurone disease, which he battled for six years before he died in November last year.

Speaking about the charity challenge in a previous Instagram video, Mike said: ‘Doddie Aid is back. I’ve just signed up and re-downloaded the Doddie Aid app.
‘It’s basically a six-week challenge. Get as much mileage in as you can, sign up as a family, encourage the families to get out there and do their miles, all raising money for the great man who obviously sadly passed away a couple of weeks ago.’

He added: ‘It’s a massive year for him… it’s a year to honour him as much as we possibly can.
‘Hope you can all join in raise huge amount of money for such a great cause.’
