Midterms 2022: What can we take away from this election?
It’s been a strange midterm election. Democrats see it as a victory, despite being on course to lose control of the House, as they haven’t suffered as badly as many had expected – and polls had predicted.
Republicans were expecting a massive red wave due to Joe Biden’s negative approval ratings and the struggling US economy. But it just hasn’t happened.
Republicans will still be happy with their Florida result – Ron DeSantis won re-election and they picked up three House seats.
They didn’t pull off the big upset in the NY governor’s race, they are still likely to flip a few Democratic House seats.
But Democrats can be happy about their Pennsylvania win.
