Manchester United can still win the Premier League title ahead of Arsenal and Manchester City according to their former striker Dwight Yorke.
Since the end of the World Cup, no side has claimed more Premier League points than United, with five wins from seven games catapulting Erik ten Hag’s team into title contention.
And after both Arsenal and City lost over the weekend, they are now just three points behind the Citizens and eight behind the Gunners, though the league leaders have played a game less.
With the Red Devils now in their best run of form since the days of Sir Alex Ferguson, many believe there is a chance they could go all the way and win an unlikely title.
United icon Yorke certainly thinks so, but concedes it would require more slip ups from their rivals to come true, exclusively telling Ladbrokes: Fanzone: ‘Arsenal are in the driving seat, but I’m still expecting plenty of twists and turns.
‘Who’s to say – you know, my old club are a little bit behind at the moment – if Manchester United can go on an unbelievable run, who’s to say they can’t come into the frame?
‘No one is talking about Man United at the moment, but they’re just getting something going over there now, so maybe they could become a threat with Arsenal and Man City slipping up.

‘You tend to look back and reflect as a manager, at moments in the season where you’ve perhaps dropped too many points – and the obvious place to start with United would be in those two opening games of the season.
‘I’m sure Erik ten Hag will be sitting there, thinking about just how good a chance they’d have had in this title race were it not have been for those first two games, losing to Brentford and Brighton.
‘But eight points is nothing; they have got a slight chance of winning the Premier League. There’s still 17 games and 51 points to play for, for United. There’s a lot of football in there.

‘All United have to do is chip away and capitalise when Arsenal and City slip up. All of a sudden, we could see a dramatic shift in the title race.’
The next few fixtures could indeed shake things up, as United have a double header against struggling Leeds, while Arsenal and City host tough opponents in Brentford and Aston Villa, before taking on each other next Wednesday.
‘I’m so interested to see what happens in the next couple of games, particularly for Arsenal and City, because usually what you’ll find is that the response to a defeat is often more important than the defeat itself,’ Yorke added.
‘Teams that go on to win titles tend to bounce back after surprise defeats, so we’ll see if those two at the top of the table do the same… and if they don’t, then United have a chance to close the gap.
‘I’m a United fan, but I’m not one of those who hates City with a passion; when you play the game you see things slightly different to a normal fan. For the good of the Premier League, I think it would be better if Arsenal won the title, ahead of City.
‘City and Liverpool have been so dominant in the last few years, so from a football perspective, it would be good to see someone like Arsenal cause an upset… that’s if United don’t come from behind and nick it!’
