A man claiming to be fleeing from a motel ghost attempted to break into a home and wound up being arrested for burglary.
Andrew George, 38, told police that he and Natasha Kachuroi, 36, had gotten a room at a Travel Inn where they heard the bathroom window opening and asked for a refund because they thought someone was breaking in.
The pair, who were in Daytona Beach, Florida, then ran toward Beach Street while under the impression that a ‘shadow’ was chasing them, according to court records obtained by ClickOrlando.
They ran in the Halifax Marina parking lot and got separated, at which point George fell into the water. Kachuroi helped him out, and the pair got to a business at 432 South Beach Street.

There, Kachuroi knocked on the door and George smashed a window using a chair, states an affidavit.
The commotion on Tuesday evening caused residents at a home nearby to wake up and a woman to go out and see what was happening. Kachuroi told the woman, ‘Please help me’. Meanwhile, George ran toward her, causing her to go back to the home and lock the door, according to the affidavit.
George proceeded to pound at the door and the woman grabbed a kitchen knife and threatened to kill him if he broke in, cops said. Kachuroi then started trying to restrain George.
The homeowner called 911 and police officers arrested George and Kachuroi.

George told cops that a ‘ghost’ was following him and wanted to hurt him, and that he wasn’t able to get into the business ‘due to God telling him (that Kachuroi) was a bad person to hang out with’.
He also told investigators that he decided against going into the home because he heard children’s voices and did not want to scare them.
George admitted to taking ‘molly’, or ecstasy, and blamed it for his ‘bad choices’, according to investigators.
He was charged with two counts of burglary and is being held on a $20,000 bond. Kachuroi has been charged with principal to a burglary and a drug offense, and is being held on a $5,000 bond.
