A man has been charged with attempted murder and firearm offences after an alleged incident that left another man with ‘serious injuries.
The victim, in his 40s, suffered wounds to his arm at the Tan Hill Inn – Britain’s highest pub – in the Yorkshire Dales on Friday evening.
Paramedics found the man at the pub in Langthwaite, Richmond, at around 10:40pm before rushing him to the hospital.
His injuries are not life-threatening.
The suspect, 46, was arrested a ‘short time later’ and has also been charged with actual bodily harm and battery, county police said today.
He was remanded in custody and is expected to appear in York Magistrates Court later today.
A woman was also arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm – she has since been released on bail.
North Yorkshire Police added: ‘There were a number of people at the venue at the time of the incident who officers would like to come forward.’
The Tan Hill Inn, a remote inn said to be built in the 17th century, stands at 1,732ft above sea level.
