Man arrested for opening plane door during South Korea flight
A man in his 30s has been arrested for opening the emergency door of an Asianan Airlines flight during its landing at Daegu International Airport in South Korea.
All 194 passengers on board survived, despite the door remaining open upon landing. Around six passengers experienced breathing difficulties and were taken to the hospital for treatment, according to local media.
The exact sequence of events leading up to the door being opened is still unclear, but reports suggest it happened around 12:45 local time, towards the end of the flight. A video shared online shows the unsettling scene of winds buffeting rows of seated passengers through the gap created by the open door.
Asiana Airlines has confirmed that a comprehensive investigation is underway in cooperation with the police.
