Madonna postpones tour after intensive care stay
American pop star Madonna has postponed her world tour after being in a hospital’s intensive care unit (ICU) with a serious bacterial infection.
Her manager Guy Oseary said the infection was “serious” and led to her staying in the ICU for several days. She is expected to make a full recovery.
In a statement, Oseary said her health was improving, but she is still under medical care.
Madonna was expected to launch her 84-stop tour next month.
US media reports the 64-year-old star is receiving treatment in New York City.
Forbes lists Madonna as the 45th richest self-made woman in the US. She has an estimated wealth of $580m and says she has earned an estimated $1.2bn from touring.
