Liverpool have reached an agreement to sign Brighton midfielder Alexis Mac Allister this summer, according to reports in Argentina.
Jurgen Klopp is keen for Liverpool to recruit at least one new midfielder in the upcoming transfer window, with both Naby Keita and James Milner leaving Anfield at the end of the season.
According to TyC Sports, Liverpool have now finalised a deal to sign Mac Allister from Brighton at the end of the season.
The report claims that Liverpool will pay Brighton in the region of £70 million for the World Cup winner.
Mac Allister has been one of Brighton’s standout performers this season, scoring 10 Premier League goals for Roberto De Zerbi’s side.
Brighton will also see a significant return on Mac Allister, having spent just £7m to sign him from Argentine side Argentinos Juniors in January 2019.

Speaking earlier this week, De Zerbi conceded that the prospect of losing both Mac Allister and Moises Caicedo, who has been another key figure in Brighton’s season, could happen this summer.
‘I said that it could be the possibility to lose some big players, like Caicedo maybe, Mac Allister, [Kaoru] Mitoma… I don’t know,’ De Zerbi said.
‘But we are Brighton and I know the policy of our club – my club – and we have to be ready to bring in other good players with the right characteristics, the right condition of our club.’
Brighton have already moved quick to bolster De Zerbi’s midfield options as they have reached an agreement to sign Mahmoud Dahoud on a free transfer from Borussia Dortmund.

Klopp, meanwhile, has made it clear that Liverpool are in the market to strengthen several areas of the team this summer.
‘We look in all departments apart from goalkeeper at the moment,’ Klopp said on Friday.
‘Yes, if there is a good one (defender) out there, I would not deny it. That’s all. We look at all areas of the pitch, definitely.’
