Sister to The Beatles star George Harrison, Louise Harrison has died aged 91 after helping the legendary pop group crack America.
Announced on her Facebook group, her death was confirmed as friends and family posted heartbreaking tributes to the late sister of Harrison.
The sad news was broken by Marty Scott – a member of The Beatles tribute group Liverpool Legends – who shared the tragic update and revealed Louise died on Monday ‘painlessly and peacefully’.
It was reported before her death that Louise was receiving care at a hospice in Florida.
Marty wrote: ‘It’s really hard for me to get words out at the moment, but Lou meant the world to me. Since the day I met her my life was changed forever.
‘It was just a few weeks after George passed and it started a whirlwind of change in my entire world.’

The devastated tribute singer continued on: ‘She’s been my family now for over 20 years. It’s hard to explain our relationship but at times she was truly my sister, sometimes my grandmother, sometimes my child, and sometimes my best friend.
‘We spent so much time together and travelled to so many places. She was a huge part of my life and did so many things for me and Liverpool Legends.
‘She opened so many darn doors for us and never took no for an answer.’
‘There are so many great memories and they will always keep me smiling every time I think of her. Louise had the biggest heart,’ he began as he signed off the heartfelt tribute.

‘She’d give the shirt off her back if you needed one. She made so many people happy in her very unique life. Her story really deserves to be told someday.’
Marty then revealed he got the opportunity to say goodbye to his late friend a couple of weeks beforehand and ensured that her memory ‘will always live on with all of us’.
The late sister of Harrison played an instrumental role in the early promotion of The Beatles.
During the band’s 60s era, she eagerly wrote to radio and TV stations to help the band break the American music scene and make their name across the pond.
Harrison spent most of her life living in the Midwest, after moving to Illinois with her first husband in the 50s – following which she later relocated to California.
Fans reacted to Louise’s death on Twitter and offered her family their condolences.
‘Very sad to wake up to the news that Louise Harrison, sister of George, has died. I interviewed her for my book and she was so much fun to talk to. She will be deeply missed,’ one fan wrote.
Another penned: ‘Rest in peace Louise Harrison, who passed away this Sunday. Sending our love out to all the Harrison’s.’
