Katie Price panto hit by low ticket sales as theatre takes drastic action
Katie Price’s latest panto has been hit with slashed ticket prices, the star is bankrupt and desperate to make some money to maintain her lifestyle.
Katie Price’s Easter pantomime has been dealt a blow after a poor reception resulted in prices for tickets being slashed by 50%.
The TV personality and former glamour model, 46, is set to hit the stage in a ‘no strings attached’ production of Pinocchio alongside 90s comedian Bobby Davro.
Her work on Pinocchio will briefly run alongside her work for spoof movie Jackie the Stripper—she was spotted on the set of the upcoming movie last week.
Katie will take to the stage twice at Chesham’s Elgiva Theatre on Monday, April 14, with a matinee showing beginning at 2pm and an evening showing beginning at 6pm.
In a bid to get more bums on seats for Katie’s big night, the venue has reportedly decided to offer buyers a second ticket for half price once they’ve bought their own ticket.
But as of the time of writing, huge blocks of tickets are still available to buy for both the matinee and evening performances, with just a week left until the big night.
The adult panto is currently touring the UK
The Entertainment show is currently in the middle of its Easter tour, which went ahead in Northampton today, after already performing in Sevenoaks and Clacton-on-Sea.
Earlier this week, Katie was preparing for her latest role and got into character as the Fairy, sharing her informal rehearsals on Instagram.
She wrote on the photo-sharing website: ‘Excited for the Pinocchio Panto Show today in Sevenoaks. Tomorrow we’re in Clacton and Monday in Northampton see you all soon. Enjoy the show.’
Katie has been rehearsing for the Pinocchio show for some time
It’s not the first time a Katie Price pantomime has been dealt a knock, with the former I’m A Celebrity star’s adult Aladdin show ‘quietly cancelled’ last year.
A source told The Sun at the time: ‘The show has been quietly cancelled with no explanation. Fans aren’t sure whether it was down to poor ticket sales or another reason, but it’s all very strange.’
The source continued, referencing the Cinderella panto that went ahead over Christmas 2024: ‘Katie is doing another panto now with her pal Kerry Katona, though, so she won’t be out of pocket.’
Katie and Kerry have become very close friends in recent years, with the two said to be relying on each other quite a lot for emotional support in recent times.
Katie spent Mother’s Day working on the production
Speaking to The Mirror, a source claimed: ‘Katie and Kerry are growing closer over their shared experiences of tough times – they’ve been a shoulder for each other to cry on.
‘Katie didn’t have the best Mother’s Day; she was working and didn’t see her kids, which was tough for her.’
It was actually the Pinocchio panto that meant Katie spent Mother’s Day without her children—22-year-old Harvey, 19-year-old Junior, 17-year-old Princess, 11-year-old Jett, and 10-year-old Bunny.
‘Happy Mother’s Day, everybody! Enjoy your day. And all you kids, look after your mum today! Spoil her rotten,’ she began in an Instagram Story.
‘Talking of which, I’m not with my kids today because it’s my first show at panto,’ Katie added.
