Jessica Chastain tripped over her dress when walking onstage to collect her gong at Sunday’s Screen Actors Guild (Sag) Awards.
The star was strolling towards the podium when she lost her footing on a set of stairs, prompting Paul Mescal and Courtney B Vance to run to her aid.
While Jessica, 45, confessed she was ‘embarrassed’ by the trip, she joked she was in ‘a good position’ thanks to Paul and Courtney having her back.
The Oscar-winner, who won the Sag award for her role as Tammy Wynette in George & Tammy, was walked the rest of the way to the podium by Paul, who graciously grabbed Jessica’s hand.
After the incident, she said: ‘I just needed to be airlifted, I couldn’t do it, my whole body was shaking.’
Jessica added to Extra: ‘But I had Court and I had Paul Mescal, so I mean, a girl was in a good position.’

The A-lister was joined at the star-studded bash by the likes of Brendan Fraser, Austin Butler and Zendaya.
The Sag Awards celebrates the best performances in television and film and the ceremony proved to be history-making thanks to Michelle Yeoh and Ke Huy Quan, who became the first Asian actors to win top film trophies at the awards show.

Yeoh took home the gong for best performance by a female actor for her role in Everything Everywhere All At Once while Quan won the best supporting actor award for the same film.
Elsewhere, Brendan became choked up while accepting the award for outstanding performance by a male actor.
‘I’m smiling and breathing, that’s half the job,’ quipped Brendan, who won the gong for his starring role in The Whale.
He went on: ‘I will treasure this, but never more than how I treasured… my SAG card that I earned in 1991.
‘It made me feel like I belonged. We’re actors, we all want to belong to a tribe, and that’s where I found that.
