Jadon Sancho has returned to Manchester but there is still no timescale for his return to the United side.
The former Borussia Dortmund star has not been a part of the United squad since the return of domestic football with ten Hag revealing the player has been struggling ‘physically and mentally’.
Sancho was not part of United’s training camp in Spain during World Cup action and instead underwent a personal training camp in Netherlands, working with coaches recommended to him by the United boss.
The 22-year-old, who started the season brightly with goals against Liverpool and Leicester City, has not played for the club since October and despite the heavy fixture schedule, ten Hag insists he and the club will remain patient over his reintegration back into the squad.
#The time is not now [for him to return to the squad] but he is making progress,’ said Ten Hag, ahead of United’s trip to Wolves on Saturday.
‘We will see when he is ready to return into the squad.
‘He’s back in Manchester, he will start individual training.’

Sancho signed for United in a £73million deal in July 2023 but has struggled to replicate his superb Dortmund form back in England.
The former Manchester City academy star has managed eight goals and four assists in his 18 months at Old Trafford, having scored 49 and laid on 60 in his three full seasons at Dortmund.
The Londoner also missed out on the England squad that travelled to Qatar for the World Cup.
Sancho is United’s only notable absence as the season shifts back into gear with Diogo Dalot, who suffered a hamstring injury in the latter stages of Portugal’s World Cup campaign, pictured back in training this week.
Scott McTominay, Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire were among those affected by a sickness bug this week but the trio are expected to be back in contention with United in action against Wolves on Saturday.
Lisandro Martinez is also in line to return after returning to Manchester following Argentina’s World Cup success.
