Isaac Herzog, Israel’s president, has criticised Angelina Jolie over her stance on the conflict engulfing Israel and Gaza.
Herzog, 63, said 48-year-old actress Jolie hadn’t ‘seen the facts on the ground’ nor had she ‘visited Gaza’.
Last month, Jolie accused Israel in an Instagram post of ‘deliberately bombing children, women, families, deprived of food, medicine and humanitarian aid’.
Jolie also called for a ceasefire, prompting Herzog to say in a new interview that the A-lister wasn’t ‘offering the Israeli people any ability to defend themselves’.
Speaking to Piers Morgan on Uncensored, Herzog said of Jolie: ‘She never went to visit and see the facts on the ground.’
He added: ‘With all the respect, people in Gaza know there is war, but there is no humanitarian crisis that does not enable them to survive.

‘There’s a major dramatic increase in humanitarian aid to Gaza which Israel has supported dramatically, in conjunction with the United States and United Nations and many other nations.’
Herzog continued: ‘The Gazan people can move there so we can uproot this terror regime. This is what we know. Angelina Jolie does not offer the Israeli people any ability to defend themselves by saying what she is saying.
‘Gaza is a jail not because of Israel, Israel pulled out of Gaza to the last inch.’
It comes after Jolie’s own father, Oscar-winner Jon Voight, also publicly lashed out at the Tomb Raider actress.
