WTX’s next nominee for the most inspirational female leaders 2020 poll, is Kamala Harris who represents the dawn of a new age of political power.

Kamala Harris has become one of the most famous female leaders in 2020. Harris is America’s first female, first Black and first South Asian vice president-elect and breaking those stereotypes was the first important thing she did during her historic VP debate.
Let’s face it, we live in an age of political correctness. Where we presume that somehow eradicates the racism within society. When the truth is, that racism is prevalent today in America, except it is garnished with a smile, instead of a frown and the use of the ‘N-word’.
Harris made it on merit, not a token gesture
Kamala Harris made her name as a bookend to the first Black president, Barack Obama.
She worked through the Trump era- in the trenches and the halls of the Democratic party. Just look at all the Committee’s she is working on.
As a member of the Democratic Party serves on the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, the Select Committee on Intelligence, the Committee on the Judiciary, and the Committee on the Budget.
Kamala’s win symbolises an acceptance in a new era of high-point career accomplishments of a woman.
Sen Kamala Harris has dedicated her life to fighting injustice. It’s something that took from her mother, Shyamala, an Indian-American immigrant, activist, who also worked hard to become a breast cancer researcher.
What makes a woman inspirational?
Born in Oakland, California, Harris graduated from Howard University and in 2003, she was elected district attorney of San Francisco. She was elected Attorney General of California in 2010 and re-elected in 2014. In this role, she made sure she held business organisations accountable and protect the most vulnerable.
Harris has suggested that life imprisonment without parole can help with saving money than the death penalty. And she reached the conclusion that the resultant cost savings could pay for a thousand additional police officers in San Francisco alone.
In 2011, Harris announced the creation of the Mortgage Fraud Strike Force in the wake of the 2010 United States foreclosure crisis. That same year, Harris was the one responsible for two of the largest recoveries in the history of California’s False Claims Act – $241 million from Quest Diagnostics and then $323 million from the SCAN healthcare network.
When she elected to the United States Senate, Kamala’s mission remained the same, the only difference is she has a bigger stick.
Since taking office, she has introduced and amongst other became sponsor for legislation to raise the incomes for working people, fight for implementation of the criminal justice system, make healthcare accessible to all Americans, bring awareness of substance abuse, support veterans and military families, and give access to working parents for thoughtful childcare.
