Imran Khan charged by Pakistan police under terrorism act
Pakistan’s police have charged Imran Khan under anti-terror laws.
Their investigation comes after former prime minister Khan accused the police and judiciary of detaining and torturing his closest aide.
Khan was ousted as Pakistan’s prime minister in April, and tensions in the country remain high.
Since he was ousted, he has been a vocal critic of the government ad the country’s Army.
In a public speech on Saturday, Khan condemned Islamabad’s police chief and a female judge for the detention and alleged mistreatment of his colleague Shahbaz Gill – who is being held under sedition charges.
