Peri and Juliet succumbed to temptation and there were fireworks (Picture: Lime Pictures)
There were fireworks aplenty in Hollyoaks, and we’re not talking about the actual firework display in the village, as sparks flew once more between Juliet Nightingale (Niamh Blackshaw) and Peri Lomax (Ruby O’Donnell).
Our hearts are full.
The former couple, who separated earlier this year when Juliet fell for newcomer Nadira Valli (Ashling O’Shea), struggled to resist the chemistry between them as they shared a passionate kiss.
Juliet, as viewers know, has attempted to convince herself that Nadira is the person she’s most happy with, given that she destroyed her own relationship and broke Peri’s heart in order to be with her.
But in the words of Harry Styles, it’s not the same as it was – that is, in comparison to her love with Peri, a fact which she admitted to her former flame during Thursday’s (November 3) first look edition of the Channel 4 soap.
The episode in question picked up from where the previous left off, with Nadira facing some serious questions in regards to whether or not she deliberately burned Peri with a sparkler.
Fans will recall that Nadira, furious to see Juliet getting along so well with her ex, planted a kiss on her lips in a bid to mark ‘her’ territory, before offering to light the sparkler for Peri, who she later scalded with it.

Leela (Kirsty Leigh Porter) was ready to give Nadira what for, but Peri talked her out of it. Juliet, meanwhile, wanted answers, and much to her shock, Nadira admitted that she may have meant to hurt Peri, but added that she couldn’t be certain.
The admission left Juliet horrified, as she told Nadira that she needed some time to process it all, leaving Nadira concerned that she’d blown things for good.
The concluding moments of the offering saw Donna-Marie Quinn (Luy-Jo Hudson) and Leela speak to various residents of the village at the gym, before setting in motion the glorious fireworks display.
With the sky illuminated with colours, Donna-Marie tracked Nadira down and offered her some pearls of wisdom, encouraging her to not give up on Juliet.

Juliet, however, was with Peri, who revealed that she was already aware that Nadira burned her deliberately – but she decided to keep quiet in order to preserve Juliet’s happiness.
The kind gesture led Juliet to drop the facade, as she admitted something that the viewers at home have known for a long time.
‘What if I’m not [happy]?’ she said.

‘It’s not like it was with you’, she continued to a stunned a Peri, who admitted that she was ‘confused’ by Juliet’s change of heart.
Juliet, staring into the eyes of the girl she loves, hesitated, before kissing her on the lips. Peri was taken aback and as the two contemplated what had just happened, they got swept up in the moment, locking lips once more.

What happened next? FIREWORKS. That’s what.
Literally and figuratively, as Jules and Peri’s passion was illuminated by the fireworks outside, and suddenly all was right in the world once more.
We’re not crying. We swear.
Okay, maybe just a little bit.
