The reality of her prognosis set in, leaving Juliet heartbroken over everything she’s going to miss out on (Picture: Lime Pictures)
Hollyoaks aired emotional scenes as the reality of Juliet Nightingale’s (Niamh Blackshaw) terminal prognosis set in, with her expressing her feelings of ‘serious FOMO’.
Juliet, who was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma last year, was informed by doctors this month that her condition had progressed and, as a result, it is now terminal, with no further treatment available to her.
The news came as a shock, with Peri Lomax (Ruby O’Donnell), who has been dating Juliet on and off for over two years, urging her girlfriend to tell her loved ones the truth about her prognosis.
Juliet ultimately did just that, confiding in Donna-Marie Quinn (Lucy-Jo Hudson) first, before breaking the news to James (Gregory Finnegan) on the eve of his wedding after she collapsed during the reception.
Both Donna-Marie and James have vowed to be there for their beloved Juliet, who kicked off this week by making preparations for her funeral service, making it quite clear that she wanted it to be one to remember.
Romeo was taken aback by her request to assist, but it was Peri who really struggled to cope, unable to process the thought of saying goodbye to her soulmate.

Cindy Cunningham (Stephanie Waring) and Grace Black (Tamara Wall), who both know a thing or two about loss and grief, were on hand to help, urging Peri to do as Juliet requests, reminding her she’ll never get this precious time back.
Taking their advice, Peri returned home, pulling up a metaphorical pew beside Juliet, who revealed that she wants her funeral to be a celebratory event rather than a day of sadness, revealing that she’s even got a potential list of people who will be uninvited if they upset her before she dies.
Talking so openly and candidly about her funeral, however, ultimately made the reality of her prognosis set in, with Juliet revealing to Peri that she’s starting to have ‘serious FOMO’.
