Friends star David Schwimmer has been seen in New York after the death of his former co-star Matthew Perry.
On Saturday, Perry – who starred as the lovable and sharp-witted Chandler Bing in the American sitcom – died at the age of 54 after he was reportedly found in a hot tub at his home in Los Angeles.
Fans and celebrities have been mourning his death across the globe with heartfelt tributes, remembering how much joy he brought to their lives through his acting, while also honouring the pivotal work he did to help others who suffered from addiction after opening up about his own struggles.
The lead members of the cast – Schwimmer, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Matt LeBlanc and Lisa Kudrow – have released a heartbreaking joint statement following Perry’s death, describing him as ‘family’.
‘We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just cast mates. We are a family,’ they said in the statement sent to People.
‘There is so much to say, but right now we’re going to take a moment to grieve and process this unfathomable loss.

‘In time we will say more, as and when we are able. For now, our thoughts and our love are with Matty’s family, his friends, and everyone who loved him around the world.’
On Monday October 30, Schwimmer, 56, was pictured in New York a couple of days after the death of his late friend.

The actor could be seen accepting a food delivery, wearing a grey T-shirt and a blue and white cap with a pair of shorts, and partially concealing his face with a black mask.
At one point, he gestured a peace sign with his left hand, which might be interpreted as the Madagascar star sharing a moment of solidarity with Friends fans. However, it could have also been a signal to the delivery driver.
Schwimmer was also spotted at a separate point in a different outfit, standing outside in a pair of jeans, a dark blue hoodie and a black puffer jacket with the same cap and a white mask.

Hank Azaria, who played Phoebe’s on-off boyfriend David on the sitcom, revealed how the late actor – who was open about his addiction struggles – helped him with his own sobriety.
‘We both went to [AA] meetings together – I got to tell him this, as a sober person, he was so caring and giving and wise and he helped me get sober,’ the actor shared.
Morgan Fairchild, who portrayed Chandler’s mother Nora Bing, wrote in her tribute: ‘I’m heartbroken about the untimely death of my “son”, Matthew Perry. The loss of such a brilliant young actor is a shock. And such a sweet, caring man, too!
