Fern Britton has sent fans wild after seemingly thrown some shade at former This Morning co-star Phillip Schofield.
The TV presenters worked together on the ITV morning programme from 2002 until 2009, when Fern, 65, decided to leave the show.
In the years since Fern said she ‘walked away and resigned’ after being ‘treated pretty poorly’, while her former co-presenter, 61, admitted in his 2020 memoir that when she announced her exit he was ‘heartbroken’ and revealed their friendship had also ‘gone sour’.
Now as Phillip battles an apparent ‘fallout’ with current co-host Holly Willoughby, Fern seems to have subtly weighed in.
Posting on social media on Monday night, Fern mentioned that she had been catching up with Eamonn Holmes, who presented This Morning on Fridays for 15 years, before leaving the show in 2021.
‘Unexpected calls from old mates are so lovely. Just had the loveliest catch up with Eamonn Holmes,’ she posted on Twitter.
‘I think we have known each other since the 80’s when we were babies 😂 Shooting the breeze.’

People couldn’t help but comment on her post, suggesting their conversation must have involved a chat about their former co-host.
‘Did you have a nice chat? Bet you’re both cackling over Phillip,’ one person wrote.
Another added: ‘Wow I bet that was an interesting call! Would love to have been a fly on the wall.’
Her post came after Eamonn, 63, took aim at Holly and Phil earlier in the day, claiming the pair had ‘no chemistry’.
When appearing on his breakfast show on GB News, Eamonn did not hold back.
‘I think there should’ve been a special award for Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby for best actors,’ he said.

‘The public surely have sussed that there’s no chemistry, that there’s a broken fit between the two of them.’
He added that, in his opinion, This Morning ‘does not depend on who presents it’.
‘It’s an institution. It will carry on no matter who presents it, and anybody can check the viewing figures. There’s no difference between whether they present it or anyone else,’ he added.

In a statement shared last week, Phillip described Holly as his ‘rock’.
‘As I have said before, Holly is my rock,’ he stressed. ‘We’re the best of friends — as always, she is an incredible support on screen, behind the scenes and on the phone.’

He continued to The Sun: ‘Holly has always been there for me, through thick and thin. And I’ve been there for her.
‘The last few weeks haven’t been easy for either of us.’
Holly joined This Morning after Fern quit the show.
