Billie Eilish to headline Glastonbury Festival in 2022
Pop sensation Billie Eilish will headline Glastonbury Festival 2022.
The 20-year-old is the first confirmed headliner for the festival, and the “youngest solo headliner” in Glastonbury history.
Billie hinted at the news on Instagram, where she posed in a Glastonbury hoodie with the caption “2022”. Glasonbury organiser Emily Eavis later confirmed the booking.
“This feels like the perfect way for us to return and I cannot wait!”
Billie will be the first female headliner since 2016 – after Taylor Swift’s headliner spot didn’t come about due to the pandemic.
Glastonbury was also cancelled this year as well, though they did do a virtual event with artists including Coldplay.
Eilish’s first appearance at Glastonbury in 2019 was hailed as a triumph by critics.
The NME called it a “once-in-a-generation” show, while Variety called it a “mesmerising” and “life-affirming” performance.
