Ben reported Lewis to the police (Pictures: BBC)
Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden) has slowly got his life back on track after being raped by Lewis Butler (Aidan O’Callaghan) in EastEnders.
The horrific ordeal happened back in the summer and afterwards, Ben struggled to communicate and tell someone about his attack.
Because of this, Ben’s friends and family started to believe he had cheated on Callum (Tony Clay), which led to their marriage coming to an end.
With help from Kathy (Gillian Taylforth), who soon found out about Ben’s rape, he was able to begin his healing process – but things were impacted by his Mitchell family members.
A revenge plan involving Phil (Steve McFadden), Sam (Kim Medcalf) and Lewis initially allowed us to think the rapist would leave the show in a body bag.
However, a tense showdown then ensued, as Ben made Lewis recount the events of the day he raped him, and despite his initial hesitation, Lewis finally admitted what he did. Ben, therefore, let him go, showing that – despite Lewis’ claims – he’s nothing like him.

This led to Ben reporting his ordeal to the police but sadly, as we learnt tonight, the investigation doesn’t look set to go any further.
While working, Ben received a phone call from the police, and he discovered the CPS has decided to drop the charges against Lewis.
But what does this mean for Ben and his recovery process?
Can he open up to his family about this latest development?
