Donald Trump to hold another rally as he teases #TRUMP2024
Donald Trump is fuelling rumours he’ll run for president again in 2024, as it is confirmed he will host a rally in Alabama later this month.
Trump left the White House in January after being defeated by Joe Biden. The former President will speak to supporters at a campaign-style rally in Cullman, on August 21.
His political organisation ‘Save America’ are in charge of organising the meet which will take place on the same day as the state Republican Party’s hold its summer meeting, also in Cullman.
Trump won Alabama by more than 25% in both the 2016 and 2020 elections and will look to gauge support at the end of the month.
It will be Trump’s first speech in the state since September 2017.
The news comes just a few weeks after Trump held similar rallies in Ohio and Florida.
Trump’s Ohio rally saw his slam ‘woke generals’ in American society and at his Florida rally he stoked speculation about a possible run to regain the White House at the next US presidential election in 2024.
‘The Alabama Republican Party is thrilled that president Trump is coming to Alabama and holding a rally in conjunction with our annual summer meeting’, said state Republican chairman John Wahl in a press release, reports AL.com.
‘We all know that there is a special relationship between president Trump and the people of Alabama, and I am incredibly excited to be part of bringing him back to our state.
‘It has been an absolute pleasure working with the Trump team since the end of February to make this visit possible. August 21st is going to be an exciting and memorable night for the state of Alabama.’
Trump has been teasing another run for president for some time. In April he said he was ‘beyond seriously’ thinking about running for president at the next election.
He also claimed he’s more popular among Americans now than he was on the day of the US election in November last year.
Trump added that the reason for his apparent rise in popularity is because of ‘how bad things are’ – as he attacked Joe Biden for his handling for the US-Mexico border crisis which has seen a record number of migrants crossing the border into America.
