This year has seen Rishi Sunak and his family move out, then back onto Downing Street as he became the leader of the Conservative Party and current Prime Minister.
Mr Sunak and his family moved into Number 10 this month after Liz Truss resigned from the position of PM after just 44 days.
The famous black doors of Number 10 has seen numerous residents over the years – and not all of them human.
As well as the tradition of mousers roaming Number 10 such as current top cat Larry, there is a long history of PMs and their pets living on Downing Street.
And Mr Sunak’s fox red Labrador retriever, Nova, will be joining them.

The PM himself was not too keen to welcome a dog to the family, but his daughters Krisna and Anoushka managed to twist his arm after they met Boris Johnson’s pup Dilyn, reports The Daily Mail.

A Downing Street source told The Sun at the time: ‘Rishi was fighting it but finally gave in, and the whole building is cooing over her.’
He announced the new arrival to the Sunak family in July 2021 with an Instagram post that saw recently-adopted Nova sitting on his lap in his Number 11 office when he held the position of Chancellor of the Exchequer – so the puppy is no stranger to Downing Street.
At the time of the post, Nova was eight weeks old, so the pooch is believed to be around 17 months old now.
Nova was recently filmed receiving a Remembrance collar as the prime minister donated to the Royal British Legion.
