Doctor Who fans are in luck as the show is reportedly set to get an all new spin-off based on some of its most iconic villains, including the Cybermen and the Daleks.
The BBC sci-fi is entering a new era following Jodie Whittaker’s exit as the 13th Doctor, with former showrunner Russell T Davies returning for his second reign, and the series also entering into a deal with Disney+.
It’s thought that the show’s budget is now going to triple, with it being reportedly up to about £10million per instalment.
A new spin-off will apparently focus on the villains we’ve come to know and love (or hate).
A source told The Mirror: ‘Fans can expect to see Sontarans, Weeping Angels and Sea Devils in separate series showing what they get up to when the Doctor isn’t there to stop them, along with Daleks and Cybermen.’
RTD is no stranger to helming Doctor Who spin-offs, previously creating Torchwood, which starred John Barrowman as Captian Jack Harkness and Eve Myles as Gwen Cooper, and aired from 2006 to 2011.

At the same time, The Sarah Jane Adventures, starring the late Elisabeth Sladen as Sarah Jane Smith, aired on CBBC.
It’s thought that with his return, Russell wants to expand the ‘Whoniverse’ and explore more of what the beloved show has to offer with Marvel style spin-offs.
Ncuti Gatwa is set to take over as the 15th Doctor with Millie Gibson playing his companion, Ruby Sunday.
However, before we get to see him take over the keys to the Tardis, David Tennant is returning to the show as the 14th Doctor for three 60th anniversary specials in November 2023.
He’ll star alongside returning actress Catherine Tate (Donna Noble) as well as Yasmin Finney, and Neil Patrick Harris.
We can’t wait!
