Elaine Jones (Paula Wilcox) is unknowingly in danger in Coronation Street as she develops a friendship with Stephen Reid (Todd Boyce) – who we know murdered Leo Thompkins (Joe Frost).
When Stephen Reid (Todd Boyce) first returned to Coronation Street, he enjoyed flirting with a small handful of Weatherfield residents.
There was Yasmeen (Shelley King), who liked speaking and being pleasant with Stephen but ultimately, was always going to be more focused on her relationship with Stu (Bill Fellows) rather than something new.
Stephen also turned his attention to Jenny (Sally Ann Matthews) but now, after he killed her partner, he’s put distance between them.
So, with Jenny and Yasmeen out of the picture, Stephen does a 180 and focuses on Elaine (Paula Wilcox) again, who was charmed and impressed by his knowledge of Italy and successful career in Milan and Canada.
Ultimately there is only one driving force for Stephen and that’s money. He’s broke, barely working and is resorting to crime to get what he wants.
When Shona (Julia Goulding) tells Stephen that Elaine’s house is worth a few quid his eyes light up and even manages to sort a coffee date with his new pal.

We know also that Stephen will play a cruel trick on her, sending an abusive text to his own phone but making it look as though it came from Gabrielle (Helene Maksoud).

When Elaine suggests that Gabrielle is gaslighting him, Stephen makes out it’s only what he deserves.
Being the kind soul she is, Elaine opens up to Stephen and reveals that she was also in an abusive relationship and really wants to help him…but where will this lead?
Could Elaine become Stephen’s next victim?
She’s in danger.
