Sam grows concerned (Picture: ITV)
Hope Stape (Isabella Flanagan) is more focused on a relic in her house rather than her new Christmas presents in Coronation Street, as she continues to become fascinated at the life John Stape once led.
The relic in question is a cassette tape, found by Hope, Joseph (Isabella Flanagan) and Sam (Jude Riordan) during an attempt at conducting a séance.
We know Hope’s interest in her serial killer father is now becoming somewhat concerning. Initially, when the John Stape book was close to being published, Hope hated the idea of people knowing she’s the daughter of a murderer.
However, when a lonely Hope wanted to make more friends at Weathy High, she started signing books and selling them, allowing her to believe her classmates wanted to hang out with her.
Unfortunately, once Hope realised the pupils were just making fun of her, she reacted badly, grabbing a hammer from her bag and re-enacting Charlotte Hoyle’s murder.
This led to Hope being suspended from school.
While Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) and Tyrone (Alan Halsall) were furious, Hope wasn’t that bothered and rang Sam via her walkie-talkie, telling him that she’s bagged herself a week off school and intends to make Tyrone pay after he promised to stop the book about John from being published.
Things are always weird in that week between Christmas and New Year, but perhaps more so for Hope, who’s caught by Sam listening to her John Stape cassette – and talking to her dad too.
