Coldplay paid tribute to the late, great Tina Turner in the most epic way as they dedicated their concert to her in Barcelona, Spain.
News of Turner’s death shocked the world earlier this week, as it was announced on Wednesday (May 24) that she had ‘died peacefully’ at the age of 83.
Her representatives confirmed in a statement that she died in her home in Kusnacht near Zurich, Switzerland, following a ‘long illness’.
Tributes poured in for the rock ‘n’ roll queen from fans and famous friends around the world, with the likes of Cher, Beyoncé, and even former President Barack Obama expressing their sadness and reflecting on her epic career.
Meanwhile, Chris Martin’s band took to the stage at Estadi Olimpic Lluis Company just hours after news of the superstar’s death broke.
To honour her memory, not only did they dedicate the entire show to her, they also performed an incredible acoustic cover of Proud Mary, the Creedence Clearwater Revival tune covered by Ike and Turner back in 1971.

The following night on stage in Barcelona, they covered another of Turner’s hits, singing What’s Love Got to Do with It while the crowd lit up the stadium with flashlights.
