A driver who was high on cannabis and cocaine before he drove at 65mph in a 30mph zone and crashed into a traffic island has been jailed.
Greg Marshall, 33, was seen speeding in Seaford, east Sussex, when specialist officers from the Roads Policing Unit (RPU) of Sussex Police began a pursuit.
Marshall tried to run away from officers but was quickly stopped and arrested him in June last year.
Marshall, of Grassmere Avenue, Telscombe Cliffs, East Sussex, fortunately didn’t cause any serious harm to himself or to anyone else on the roads.
He appeared before Lewes Crown Court earlier this month where he admitted to driving dangerously and failing to stop when directed by a police officer.
He also admitted to drug-driving, driving without valid insurance, and driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence.
Marshall pleaded to two counts of possession of a class B drug after he was found in possession of cannabis and amphetamine.

The incident on June 26 began when officers tried to flag down the driver of a blue Renault Clio for being untaxed but the car sped off.
Despite crashing into a traffic island, Marshall continued to drive away with only three wheels.
When he finally stopped, Marshall attempted to escape on foot but was quickly arrested.
Marshall, who is unemployed, was sentenced to 14 months in prison and has been
disqualified from driving for three years and seven months.

RPU officer PC Alex Clarke said: ‘Marshall’s driving was appalling. He put his own safety at risk by driving away at excess speed, as well as putting the public at risk.
‘Tests showed he had both cocaine and cannabis in his system while driving.
‘Drink and drug-driving, and driving at excess speed are some of the main reasons why people are killed or seriously injured on the road.
‘The case demonstrates our determination to catch offenders.
‘Marshall will have time to reflect on his behaviour while in prison. We are pleased that a dangerous driver has been taken off the road.’
