Hollywood star Brad Pitt has reportedly been given the go ahead to drive in the British Grand Prix alongside Sir Lewis Hamilton as part of shooting their upcoming blockbuster movie.
The 59-year-old is said to have received special permission to get behind the wheel for the first parade lap at Silverstone in July.
Pitt and Sir Lewis have teamed up on an as yet untitled Formula One film, on which the seven-times world champion driver is serving as executive producer.
He announced his new TV and film production company, Apollo Dawn, last October, through which he is promising to give better opportunities to ‘diverse voices’.
‘Watching Brad Pitt leading the field in the British Grand Prix will be an incredible and surreal moment for TV viewers and fans at Silverstone this July,’ an insider told The Sun.
The film, which is helmed by Top Gun: Maverick director Joe Kosinski, is set to come to Apple TV+ in the future.

Not much is known about the story in general, although Babylon star Pitt is understood to be playing a veteran F1 driver, who comes out of retirement to mentor a young talent and take a last stab at glory as his teammate.
Sir Lewis, who recently celebrated 10 years racing with Mercedes, was also involved with the casting process alongside Kosinski and producer Jerry Bruckheimer.
According to Deadline, Snowfall actor Damson Idris has recently been tapped to co-star opposite Pitt.

It is well-known that the Ocean’s 8 actor has a keen interest in racing and has been spotted at several Grand Prix in the past.
In October it was suggested he outstayed his welcome on a visit to the Aston Martin Garage at the United States Grand Prix.
After swerving commentator Martin Brundle, who was trying to flag him down for a quick chat in a moment that went viral, Pitt was accused of making the team ‘stressed’ when he dropped by for a lengthy visit.

Team principal Mike Krack admitted to Motorsport Magazine: ‘They were with us for a very long time, much longer than expected. To be honest, it even messed up our schedule. We were a bit stressed then.’
However, he insisted Aston Martin is still throwing its support behind the film, and added: ‘We will support the project as best we can and see how involved we are. Team owner Lawrence Stroll was also involved.’
Brad Pitt and Sir Lewis Hamilton’s Formula One film is yet to receive a release date.
