For everyone other than the Ministry of Finance, it is clear that early investments in children’s daycare and schooling provide happier children with peace and energy for reflection.
If the Danish public were a supermarket, all the shelves would be half empty. In the daycare department, there are not enough teachers and carers for children. Unfortunately, for Danish women, this does not seem likely to change for the time being.
The same applies in the primary schools and the and the national hospitals, both are underfunded and under resourced.
It gets even worse if you are on welfare, in any of the provinces.
Danish Politicians prefer the status quo
And If you want to go on to further education you literally need to be able to buy a university degree. The five-year courses are so expensive and are almost sold out. Which means the universities have no incentive to offer more affordable courses.
On the other hand, you can buy the discount product, the 4-year university education , which is correspondingly inferior. And you could go on, but you won’t have as many options in the future. This is what the Danes refer to as the immigrants degree.
And Danish Finance Minister has no ambition to change any of this. The business and political community is the most resourceful in Denmark and they prefer the status quo, being able to differentiate between the colours and classes in society is important to them.
