First look at King Charles’s 50p coins 50p coins with the image of King Charles are being made to enter general circulation. They are being struck at The Royal Mint in Llantrisant, Wales, and will enter circulation in December. Sculptor Martin Jennings created the portrait of the King and said it took months of painstaking work to get the image right. He used an image of Charles on his 70th birthday to create a likeness of the monarch.

Russia deploys 30 drones in two days – Zelensky President Zelensky says Russian has launched more than 30 drone attacks on Ukraine in just two days. He says in total, Moscow has carried out some 4,500 missile strikes and over 8,000 air raids. Zelensky delivered his speech from Kyiv, standing next to what looked like a downed Iranian Shahed drone. Italy stabbing: One dead and Arsenal player Pablo Mari among several injured One person has died and at least five others have been injured in a stabbing in Italy. The stabbing took place in a supermarket and local media reported a 30-year-old cashier died after a man started attacking people in Assago – near Milan. Of those injured, some seriously include football player Pablo Mari, who is on loan from Arsenal.  A man, 46, has been detained. Elon Musk completes $44bn Twitter takeover Elon Musk has completed his $44bn takeover of Twitter, according to US media and an investor in the firm. Musk tweeted “the bird is freed,” as reports come out that he’s fired a number of top executives, including the boss, Parag Agrawal. Twitter has not yet confirmed the takeover. Musk – the world’s richest man – is a self-styled “free speech absolutist” and has been critical of Twitter’s moderation policies and the news will be greeted with mixed feelings by Twitters user and employees. Iran protests escalate marking 40 days since Mahsa Amini death Tens of thousands of protesters took to the streets in Iran’s major cities – marking 40 days since Mahsa Amini died in police custody. It’s one of the biggest nights of protests since anti-government demonstrations started six weeks ago.
