Five lions escape Australian zoo Five lions caused a brief emergency at an Australian zoo after they escaped their enclosure. The lions – one adult and four cubs – were spotted outside their exhibit at Sydney’s Taronga Zoo. The lions were quickly secured, and no one was injured. The zoo had to be put in lockdown and one cub was tranquillised, an official said. Officials have not yet explained how the animals escaped. But the zoo’s director called it a “significant incident” that would be investigated.

PM Modi to visit site of India bridge collapse India’s PM Modi will visit the Morbi district in India’s western state of Gujarat where a bridge collapsed.  The colonial-era bridge collapsed into the Machchu river on Sunday, killing more than a hundred people, just days after it was reopened after repairs. Vladimir Putin suspends Black Sea grain exports deal Russian President Vladimir Putin has said Russia is suspending its participation in a deal that allows safe passage to vessels carrying Ukrainian grain exports. Moscow pulled out of the UN-brokered agreement on Saturday, alleging that Ukraine used the corridor in the Black Sea to attack its fleet. Dover migrant centre fire attack – ‘horrified’ Dover residents are “horrified” after a fire attack at a Border Force migrant centre at the port, a Kent county councillor says.  A man, who reportedly drove 100 miles to the centre, reportedly threw two or three devices at the centre.  The devices have been described as looking like petrol bombs by witnesses.
