How muted Hamilton is responding to his never-ending Ferrari nightmare

Hamilton’s Ferrari Nightmare Continues Amid Disappointing Season

Lewis Hamilton’s tumultuous debut season with Ferrari has been marred by setbacks and frustrations, leaving the seven-time world champion grappling with the prospect of a podium-less campaign for the first time in his illustrious career.

Following a disappointing performance at the Las Vegas Grand Prix, Hamilton offered little satisfaction about his comeback from the back of the grid to claim points, stating simply, “zero.”

    Muted Responses Reflect Frustration

As Hamilton faces mounting pressure, his responses to queries have become increasingly muted, echoing the challenges he faces in his first year with the prancing horse. After hitting a new low in qualifying and struggling significantly, his remarks have been barely audible over the din of the Vegas paddock.

A keen observer could argue that the quieter Hamilton would be in line with Ferrari chairman John Elkann’s comments advocating for a more reticent approach from drivers.

    Disappointment with the 2025 Season

This season has been nothing short of a disaster for Hamilton, who had hoped for a fresh start after his struggles with Mercedes‘ current machinery. Expectations that Ferrari’s setup would better suit him have proven optimistic, as the ground-effect regulations have proven particularly challenging.

“The sooner this ground-effect era is over, the better,” Hamilton remarked, reflecting a sentiment shared by many within the paddock as they anticipate a reset with new cars and power units in 2026.

    Facing Calls for Retirement

Despite the grim outlook, Hamilton insists he remains focused on the future and the potential of the Ferrari team. “I’m excited to see what the team builds next year,” he stated, recognising that the transition takes time and effort.

His struggles have been compounded by adapting to a new environment, especially in the face of Charles Leclerc, who has established himself at Ferrari since 2019.

As pressure builds, some fans and pundits have begun questioning Hamilton’s future in Formula 1, with calls for him to consider retirement. However, he remains resolute, asserting, “I don’t regret the decision I made joining the team. I know it takes time to build and grow within an organisation.”

    The Passion of the Tifosi

Through it all, Hamilton has found solace in the unwavering support of Ferrari’s passionate tifosi, a beacon of hope amid the gloom. “The passion is the most special thing about the brand,” he commented, acknowledging the dedication of the team and its fans. “It makes it even harder when we have more difficult weekends.”

While Hamilton looks to recharge and regroup in preparation for next season, one thing is clear: this year has tested the mettle of even the most decorated driver in Formula 1 history. As the curtain falls on 2025, all eyes will be on how Hamilton and Ferrari can turn their fortunes around for a brighter future.
