Former ministers’ peerages ‘scrapped to avoid by-elections’ THE TIMES SAYS Rishi Sunak will publish Boris Johnson’s resignation honours list as soon as today amid claims that two Conservative MPs have been taken off it to avoid by-elections. The former prime minister’s 50-strong list has been waved through by Sunak after being significantly pruned. Johnson’s father, Stanley, has been removed after No 10 raised objections. Heat-health alert in force as parts of UK to hit 30C An amber heat-health alert has been issued for much of the UK ahead of scorching temperatures of up to 30°C. The warning covers eastern and southern England as well as the Midlands. The alert has been issued over fears of the impact the heat can have on people of all ages as well as added strain on the healthcare system.  According to forecasters, this weekend’s weather will be 5-10°C above the usual June temperatures.
