BBC presenter George Alagiah dies aged 67 The legendary BBC presenter George Alagiah has died at the age of 67 after a long 9-year battle with bowel cancer. The widely respected broadcaster – who had been the face of News At Six since 2007 – passed away ‘peacefully’ surrounded by his family. Anjem Choudary charged with three terror offences Anjem Choudary has been charged with three terror offences, the Met Police said. The radical London-based preacher is accused of membership of a proscribed organisation, addressing meetings to encourage support for a proscribed organisation and directing a terrorist organisation, contrary to section 56 of the Terrorism Act 2000. Choudary,56, was arrested last week. A 28-year-old Canadian national was charged on Monday with membership of a proscribed organisation.
