Activists have been thrown out an upmarket steakhouse in central London after launching a sit-in protest.
Eight people targeted Nusr-Et, in Knightsbridge, which has been made famous by ‘Salt Bae’.
The Turkish chef went viral for his extravagant method used to adorn steak with salt.
Salt Bae – real name Nusret Gökçe – has since seen success with multiple restaurants around the world, including Nusr-Et in London.
It has drawn attention for its pricey menu items, including a ‘golden tomahawk’ steak encrusted in 24-carat gold leaf
Animal Rebellion group, an offshoot of Extinction Rebellion, sent a group to stage a sit-in protest at the steakhouse this evening.
A video posted by the campaign group shows one member of the group getting carried out the premises.
Loud noise can be heard within the steakhouse as staff cheerily bid ‘goodbye’ to the activist.
Student Ben Thomas, 20, said: ‘Restaurants like these are symbolic of a broken system.
‘Whilst two million people are relying on food banks in the UK right now, influencer chefs are selling gold-plated steaks for more than £1,000.
‘Steaks, and other red meats, that we know carry the highest environmental impacts.’
The Metropolitan Police attended the scene but confirmed the protesters had already left the restaurant.

Following the stunt, Animal Rebellion tweeted: ‘Supporters of Animal Rebellion are getting dragged out by security at @nusr_et ‘s restaurant in London!
‘The restaurant is famed for its steaks – products of environmental destruction and worker and animal exploitation. This is not a sustainable food system.’
They completed the post with the hashtag #PlantBasedFuture.
This evening’s protest comes weeks after a similar stunt at Gordon Ramsay’s three-star Michelin restaurant in Chelsea.
