Remains of French toddler Emile Soleil discovered as mystery surrounds his death

Months after the disappearance of toddler Emile Soleil, a hiker stumbled upon some of his bones in an area previously explored.

Authorities are now faced with determining whether Emile Soleil’s death was accidental or the result of foul play.

The unresolved case of his disappearance last July in Haut-Vernet had deeply unsettled France. The discovery of his remains, over 1km from the initial search area, followed police re-enactments of the events.
