Joey rocks to top of comedy wildlife photos | Nature | News | Express.co.uk
IT looks like this little Joey is practising for top of the hops as she appears to play air guitar – and proves there are plenty of beats about the Aussie bush. The hilarious image of the rocking roo has just bagged top spot in this year’s Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards.

Snapper Jason Moore got down among the biting ticks at sunset to take his shot of the western grey kangaroo in a field of wildflowers near Perth.
He said: “The shoot turned out to be a great session and I am quite fond of several of the images that I captured.
“Kangaroos are normally fairly docile and even a bit boring most of the time if I’m honest.
“However, when I saw this roo striking the air guitar pose, it immediately made me smile – and I knew I had captured something really special.”
Judges were impressed by the “happy vibe and feelgood factor” of Jason’s Joey snap and he won a trophy and tickets for a once-in-a-lifetime safari trip to Kenya.
The annual competition attracted 5,300 entries from 85 countries this year.
Jacek Stankiewicz won in both the junior and people’s choice categories, thanks to his photo of greenfinches having a heated debate in Poland’s Bialowieza Forest.
He said one of the irate birds appeared to be a youngster and reckoned it was either arguing with its parents or snitching on a sibling.
