A tasty treat (Picture: Proper Snacks)

A delicious combo if you ask us.

You know KFC’s popcorn chicken – the small bites of spiced chicken in breadcrumbs – well, now they’re going quite literal with the word ‘popcorn’.

Proper Snacks has collaborated with KFC and the result is a fried chicken-flavoured popcorn.

Buttered popcorn is then coated in KFC’s blend of herbs and spices.

All of the flavour, but in the form of a lighter snack perhaps?

Launching in Co-Op stores from Wednesday August 23, then in other main supermarkets in the coming weeks, each bag is £1-1.80 (depending on the size).

Founder of Proper Snacks, Cassandra Stavrou, says: ‘This is a huge moment for Proper Snacks. Our take on the finger-lickin’ classic brings a little extra seasoning to your go-to snack.’

Better yet, the launch is vegan and gluten-free, so non-meat eaters need not miss out on the famous spice combo.

KFC’s innovation director, Kate Wall, says: ‘This partnership is about combining two iconic products to bring the world Popcorn Chicken… Popcorn, so that people can enjoy our distinctive taste in new ways.

‘This collaboration pushes the boundaries of taste and texture in a fun and exciting way and we can’t wait for our fans to try it.’

To celebrate the launch, between September 1-3, you can head to Brick Lane to try your luck at ‘The Proper Dropper’, in which prizes and snacks can be won.
