A man in Missouri was arrested under suspicion of boating while intoxicated after a devastating crash that left eight people injured at Lake of the Ozarks.
The crash took place late on Saturday night around the 1.5-mile marker at the Missouri lake, near the Osage Arm.
Just before midnight, a Nor-Tech motor boat slammed into a lakefront home.
‘The boat ran aground and struck a home, causing it to overturn, ejecting all eight passengers,’ the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

All of the injured victims were passengers on the boat, which ended up beached on the lake shore. Six of the victims sustained ‘serious’ injuries from the crash, while another two were listed as having ‘moderate’ injuries.
The passengers ranged in age from 21 to 51. All were from out-of-state, including Mississippi, California, Michigan, and Illinois.
The home was sustained ‘extensive’ damage from the boat crash, police said.
Adam Ramirez, a 46-year-old man from Huntington Beach, California, was arrested under suspicion of boating while intoxicated, but he has yet to be charged.

He was released after his initial arrest for medical treatment. A police report listed his injuries as ‘serious.’
The incident remains under investigation. Investigators are currently recreating the crash scene with the use of a drone, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said on Sunday.
The boat has since been loaded onto a trailer and towed away. State Police are asking residents to avoid the area.
‘Please remember this is a private residence and we ask that you avoid trespassing onto their property,’ the Missouri Highway Patrol said.
Lake of the Ozarks is a man-made lake along the Osage River in central Missouri. It is a popular summer vacation destination, attracting millions of tourists per year.
It was famously depicted in the Netflix series Ozark starring Jason Bateman and Laura Linney.
