Phillip Schofield’s younger former lover has reportedly claimed that he was never approached by ITV about his relationship with the This Morning host.
While the broadcaster insists the unnamed man was quizzed about the nature of his relationship with 61-year-old Phillip, his ex-lover has said otherwise.
Phillip announced on Friday (May 26) that he would be stepping down from the channel with ‘immediate effect’ after admitting to an affair with a runner on the show.
He was subsequently dropped by his agent of 35 years.
Last week, a source with knowledge of the situation insisted Phillip’s ex-lover ‘won’t lie for anyone’.
They told MailOnline: ‘It’s time for some truths to be told now, this has been brushed under the carpet for so long and it has to come to an end.

‘The younger man has got to the point now where he won’t lie for anyone but actually, he says he was never asked by ITV about any relationship.
‘It is time that people were held to account, or at the very least explain themselves.’
Over the weekend, it was also reported that the man in question was ‘just 15’ when he met Phillip.
Following their first encounter, the youngster allegedly asked the TV presenter for a job which ultimately led to an interview and a position as an ITV production assistant once he turned 18.

In a statement made to the outlet last week, Phillip described the affair – which happened when he was married to his wife of 30 years, Stephanie Lowe, and before he came out as gay – as ‘unwise but not illegal’.
The presenter said he was ‘deeply sorry’ for having ‘lied’ about the ‘consensual’ relationship with his younger colleague, who was a teenager when they met.
Phillip and Stephanie share two grown-up daughters, Molly and Ruby.
