May has seen us enjoy three – yes, three – Bank Holidays.
With the usual Early May bank holiday as well as an extra one to celebrate the Coronation of King Charles, Britons have had plenty of opportunities to catch up with loved ones and relax.
However, this time off on Monday, May 29 will come with some disruption.
Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) payments will be affected by the upcoming day off, meaning when you will receive your money will be slightly different.
With the current cost of living crisis making money tighter for everyone, many may be wondering whether they can afford to grab some barbecue food or go out to enjoy the bank holiday.
If you’re wondering when you will receive your benefit payments over the Spring bank holiday weekend, here’s what you need to know.
When will DWP benefits be paid over Spring bank holiday weekend?
Those on Universal Credit, Disability Living Allowance, Jobseeker’s Allowance, and Personal Independence Payments (PIP) all come under DWP benefits, and thus their payments will be affected over the Spring bank holiday.

The full list of affected payments are as follows:
Attendance Allowance
Carer’s Allowance
Disability Living Allowance (DLA)
Employment Support Allowance (ESA)
Income Support
Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA)
Pension Credit
Personal Independence Payment (PIP)
State Pension

Other benefits (under the HMRC umbrella) which should also be paid by this date are:

Future payment changes in 2023
The Spring bank holiday weekend is not the only time you will see your benefits change in 2023.
Payments due on the summer bank holiday (August 28) will be made by August 25, so you can hopefully enjoy a relaxing day in the sun without any money worries.
It may seem like a long time until Christmas 2023, but payments due on December 25, 26, and 27 will be paid by December 22.
