Michael B. Jordan has revealed the reason behind his significant investment into Premier League side AFC Bournemouth.
The Creed and Black Panther actor, 36, was confirmed as a part-owner of the south coast team with American businessman William Foley in December 2022.
Bournemouth currently sit 19th in the Premier League, one point from safety, picking up just two points since the World Cup.
The Black Knight consortium, fronted by Foley, 78, formed a minority ownership group within the club.
Jordan’s decision to invest in Bournemouth continues a trend that has seen actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney take ownership of Wrexham AFC.
Speaking on The Graham Norton Show, Jordan explained the reasons behind his new involvement with the Dorset team.

‘It is crazy and amazing. One reason I wanted to invest is that there was so much potential there,’ he told viewers while sitting on the famous red couch.
He continued: ‘If you give to the community, and you have new managers and new players you can raise the culture of the team. It’s exciting.’
Jordan was speaking ahead of his new movie, Creed III, which will be released in cinemas on March 3 – the third instalment of the acclaimed series.

The Creed films, sequels to the Rocky (Sylvester Stallone) movies, follow Jordan’s character Adonis Creed, the son of Rocky’s nemesis Apollo (Carl Weathers).
Creed was released in 2015 to widespread critical acclaim, with many viewers believing that it reinvigorated the Rocky franchise.
Director Ryan Coogler went on to direct Black Panther as part of the Marvel film series, and returned in 2022 for follow-up Wakanda Forever.

For the third film, Jordan has stepped into the director’s chair, saying: ‘Directing yourself means you can keep the momentum flowing.’
He explained further: ‘It was a little nuts, but I wanted the challenge [of shooting longer takes], and it worked out great.’

Bournemouth AFC is currently managed by former Portsmouth footballer Gary O’Neil, replacing ex-manager Scott Parker last year.
Parker’s last game as Bournemouth manager was a 9-0 defeat to Liverpool, which equalled the record for the heaviest defeat ever suffered by a Premier League side.
Creed is in cinemas from March 3. The Graham Norton Show airs tonight at 10.40pm on BBC One.
