*Warning: This article contains spoilers from Happy Valley series 3, episode 5.*
The first trailer for Happy Valley finale have arrived and, unsurprisingly, it looks bleak.
On Sunday night, the penultimate episode closed with Tommy Le Royce (James Norton) managing to contact Ryan (Rhys Connah) while in hiding, tracking him down on a games console by searching for his son’s gaming ID.
How did he find the ID? Well, Ryan is convinced he didn’t tell Tommy his gaming ID and subsequently fans think it was Neil Ackroyd (Con O’Neill).
Tommy confirmed his plans to flee the country and start a new life with Ryan in Marbella – but only after he’s killed Sergeant Catherine Cawood (Sarah Lancashire).
Subsequently, the finale is going to be a typically nail-biting extended episode, and it’s unlikely everyone is going to make it out alive.

The first teaser shows Catherine breaking down in tears as her worst nightmare becomes reality – Tommy is free, dangerous and coming to get her and Ryan.
Ryan is being questioned by police, asked about the last time he had contact with Tommy. But will he tell them everything? Unlikely.
Even more unnerving, one shot shows the police fleeing the station before the camera zooms in on a shot of Ryan with Catherine overheard commenting: ‘He’s still out there, he’s going to be angry and he’s going to be even more desperate and dangerous.’

Presumably, the force is heading to the aftermath of Catherine and Tommy’s final showdown.
First look images of the last ever Happy Valley episode show Catherine in pieces, staring blankly with tears dripping down her face. A second shot shows Clare with her signature confused stare too.
If we had to guess, Ryan has escaped to find Tommy and she’s devastated.
Surely the game is up for Faisal (Picture: BBC/Lookout Point)
In another image, she’s looking at past photos – remembering the days before Tommy before their inevitable showdown takes place.
And then there’s pharmacist Faisal Bhatti (Amit Shah) who is looking understandably tense after murdering his neighbour Joanna Hepworth (Mollie Winnard), packing her in a suitcase and framing her husband.
Her husband Rob is looking pretty likely to at least be charged but Faisal hasn’t got away with it yet as the police are still determined to track down who was illegally selling her diazepam.
Happy Valley concludes Sunday at 9pm on BBC One.
